About
Founded in 1985 by San Diego shaper Rusty Preisendorfer, Rusty Surfboards quickly became one of the most in demand names in the sport, with more than half of the world's Top 16 surfers riding his boards at the height of the brand's early momentum. Rusty Surfboards As a rivalry developed in the 1980s between Mark Occhilupo on Rusty boards and Tom Curren on Channel Islands, Preisendorfer was thrust into the global shaping spotlight Surfingwiki, cementing the iconic R dot logo as one of the most recognized marks in surfing. He launched a full clothing line in 1987, and the company has since grown into one of the largest grossing businesses in all of surfing. Rusty Surfboards Now celebrating 40 years, Rusty continues to thrive with a diverse roster of world class team riders and a renewed commitment to bringing production back to the United States and returning to its custom roots.
